Firths

Project Description

The factory was built to provide a facility to fabricate duct work and air conditioning. An interesting prelude to this contract was that the site was situated close to a wetland area and it was discovered that newts were present in the area around the site. KFB (Scarborough) Ltd worked very closely with the Wolds Ecology team prior to any work taking place in order to establish the right time to begin, to minimise the disruption to the newts. This is a steel framed building clad with coated sheets to the rear and sides. The front elevation also included decorative brick work panels. A large internal first floor office block was also incorporated into the design at the front of the building. An extremely large area of car parking and transport loading bays were constructed to the rear of the premises using block paving.
